Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing

Aim of the program is to introduce students to mathematical modelling and advanced computational methods, in order to solve complex and practical problems across science, engineering, finance and industry.

Students are introduced to mathematical modelling and advanced computational methods, in order to solve complex and practical problems across science, engineering, finance and industry. This Master’s program is also an ideal preparation for various PhD programs in applied mathematics.

Objectives

  • Develop Strong Mathematical & Computational Skills
  • Apply Modelling to Real-World Problems
  • Bridge Theory and Implementation

The Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics is in collaboration with the Foundation of Research and Technology (FO.R.TH) and other international achknowedged Research Centers. The students could participate in research projects of FORTH and other Research Centers in order to be educated in special topics and been able to contact research related to their Master Thesis.

Applicants

Graduates of Science, Engineering or Financial Schools, who are interested in interdisciplinary problem-solving using mathematics and computing could apply. The time duration of the Master Program is three (3) academic semesters.
